RAE Board of Directors Appoints Larry Westergard as Permanent CEO

The RAE Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Larry Westergard has been appointed as the permanent President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton (RAE), effective immediately.

Since becoming the Interim CEO last November, Larry has demonstrated strong leadership skills, extensive industry expertise and a commitment to the RAE’s success. After careful evaluation, the Board is confident in his ability to continue leading the organization and delivering on key responsibilities, including:

• Building trust and confidence within the membership
• Ensuring organizational compliance with policies and regulations
• Monitoring and advising on organizational risk
• Delivering strategic plan priorities
• Fostering strong, respectful relationships with members and key stakeholders
• Supporting the Board in its governance role
• Leading, managing and supporting staff in executing their duties
• Building a high-performing management team to advance the organization’s goals

While an external search was initially anticipated and planned, the Board’s priority is ensuring that the RAE continues to have exemplary leadership. After observing Larry’s performance in the Interim CEO role, the Board determined that his ongoing leadership is the best path forward for the RAE’s long-term stability and success.

The Board of Directors looks forward to continuing to work with Larry and is confident the Association will thrive under his direction.
