The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) launched a fundraising campaign in support of the Canadian Red Cross’ 2024 Alberta Wildfires Appeal, which aims to help the people impacted by the wildfires in Jasper, Alberta and its surrounding areas. REALTORS® and members of the community are encouraged to consider making donations via the REALTORS® Care fundraising page.
As of 1:30 PM MT on July 31, 2024, Parks Canada has stated that the Jasper Wildfire Complex remains out of control. The fires have caused widespread damage and has displaced approximately 25,000 people. Donations to the Canadian Red Cross’ 2024 Alberta Wildfires Appeal will be used to provide humanitarian aid such as financial assistance, relief supplies, support for evacuees and the communities helping them, and more.
The Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta will match every dollar donated by Canadians to the Canadian Red Cross 2024 Alberta Fires Appeal. This means that every $1 donated will become $3 to support those affected by the wildfires. Eligible donations already received will be matched.
