Vern obtained his real estate license in 1997 and has been actively involved in organized real estate for nearly three decades. He began teaching REALTORS® technology tools in October 1999 and has served on various committees at his association, including those dedicated to technology and commercial real estate. Throughout his 17-year career as an active agent, Vern worked in residential, farm, and commercial real estate sectors. Since 2014, he has been teaching full-time. With a deep engagement with computers and technology tools since 1980, Vern possesses extensive knowledge in this field.
For over 25 years, he has been instructing real estate agents on the utilization of essential tools for their profession. Vern is a certified member of the Canadian Real Estate Association Executive (CRAE) and has served on numerous non-profit boards. He currently sits on the National Board of Governors for the Air Cadet League of Canada, overseeing their training programs.

Chelsea McLachlan has been a dedicated professional in the real estate industry since obtaining her license in 2004, followed by her broker’s license in 2007. Over her 19-year career as a REALTOR® in Edmonton, she was actively involved in the industry, serving on multiple committees for RAE, AREA, and CREA. She also contributed to the leadership of RAE as a member of its Board of Directors from 2018 to 2020.
Chelsea joined the RAE as an instructor in 2023, bringing her extensive experience and industry knowledge to the classroom.

Rob and Beth Andress are the RAE’s Realtor Safety and Violence Prevention experts. Rob is a Broker and has been in the real estate industry for over 30 years, and Beth has a background in law enforcement. They’re certified in Violence Prevention and Self Defence, Pure and Applied Debilitation Tactics and are designated as Advanced Practitioners in Situational Awareness. Together they operate Street Safe Self Defence Training Company and specialize in understanding the psychology of violence against realtors.
Their work with the members of RAE includes monthly webinars and twice a year in-person sessions, covering critical topics such as conducting safe showing and listing appointments, red flag behaviours to be aware of, verbal skills to safely manage cold calls, conflict management and de-escalation, social media safety, and debunking some of the myths you may encounter in the misunderstood realm of Realtor Safety. Their in-person sessions also include practical, easy-to-learn physical tactics that are effective for everyone, regardless of size, strength, age, or physical condition.
Rob and Beth’s work with RAE has led to a significant reduction in reported safety incidents among members.
